Ever
since the beginning, the Vespa's body has been made of steel. It's pressed
steel monocoque chassis has always set the Vespa apart from any other mass-produced
scooter. The advantages of this manufacturing tradition include sturdiness
and high rigidity - as high as 250 percent more than a scooter with a tube
frame and plastic body. Many of the world's leading automakers have only recently
begun designing monocoque automobile frames to increase structural rigidity
and performance.

Today
Vespa's steel frame tradition continues, coupled with the most advanced manufacturing
methods. From the Computer Aided Design (CAD) of the steel frame, to the automated
production processes on the factory floor, the Vespa is designed to perform
and to last.
